I bought a new Beckmann cello from Ken in 2021. I loved it from the moment I first played it, and it has opened up beautifully in the meantime. Ken takes great pride in his instruments, and has made sure the cello has remained properly adjusted and maintained since the time of purchase. I’ve been nothing but pleased with my involvement with Beckmann Violins.

For the past twenty years, Beckmann Violins has helped my students find great instruments and bows at reasonable prices. When I had the opportunity to purchase a very fine bow, they were able to find just what I was looking for. 

Working professionally in the Kansas City area for several decades, I’ve been very fortunate to be able to trust and depend on Ken Beckmann’s skills and knowledge regarding the care of my instruments.  In 2016, I commissioned a new cello, and Ken made certain to understand my needs, crafting a beautiful instrument with an outstandingly warm full sound that continues to serve me well in my career.  Whether it is for adjustments, repairs or honest advice, I am grateful to continue to have a resource like the Beckmann Violin Shop here in the region. 

I have been a customer of Beckmann Violin Shop since the mid-1990s, before I moved to Kansas City in 2005. I had friends in Tulsa who would ship their bows to Ken’s shop for rehairs and repairs. When I moved here, I continued using the shop for all my instrument and bow needs. Over the years, I have purchased 2 bows from Ken (Arco Brazil and a Jesse Berndt) and a violin Ken made. I absolutely love all the purchases I have made at Beckmann Violin Shop, especially my beautiful violin, made in 2020.
